Thanks for your attention to the missing underplate, even though I agree with you that it is nearly a useless part. If its any comfort to you, I need to share that the Subaru garage also lost the part on one of my first oil changes. It wasn't the only reason I stopped going there for maintenance - it was one of MANY things that happened that made me look for a new place. I like your zip-ties, and the "hinge" effect. if there is enough clearance for work I think they should be retained on future oil changes!
The employees were very polite and efficient. Also the oil change was done quicker than at most service stations. The coffee was appreciated and there were also snack, which I did not eat this time.

On a gut feel I stopped by and the guys diagnosed a major issue with my car. They got the part and had it fixed the same day. That enabled me to leave for Spring Break and not come back to a car that needed work.
